Hello, I recently sold my 7mm rem mag with the intent to replace it with a new stainless steel version. With that said, before I do I was wonder what everyone else would replace a 7mm rem mag with as far as other factory loaded 7mm/.284 cartridges. I want the gun/cartridge for a secondary elk rifle and 400 yard white tail rifle. The rifle in reality will not see to much use as the one I'm replacing had less then 75 rounds through it in 15 years. I have other primary deer and elk rifles, I just wanted to have something in a 7mm/.284 caliber (just incase) lol. I'm not looking at any wildcats I cant get brass for. Thanks for any advise.

I have seen several guys around here going to the 7mm-300wm due to component availability. As a matter of fact, my gunsmith tried to talk me out of an STW build and go with the 7-300wm.

Just my $.02 worth....good luck...
