I just picked up a 700 Classic in .300 Weatherby and was wondering if I should replace the 24" barrel with a 26 or 28" barrel. Is the 24" barrel a good fit for the .300? The rifle is in near new condition. Thanks for the replies.. PaLuke

If it were my rifle I would want a 28" minimum with a break to capitalize on the case volume of that 300wby so I could push the heavy 210g VLD out there as fast and flat as possable.

But ist not me and you did not state your intended use for the rifle.

I dont know youe shooting ability but before you spend the cash on a new tube shoot out the old one and practice practice practice.
