Looking for input on which weight hammer hunter I should go with for my 7saum. Leaning towards the 131, 143 or 155.
I don't have it built yet but it's a 22" PROOF 8.4 twist. It will be built on a Tikka long action, powders I have on hand are H4350 and H1000.

How far do you plan on shooting? For 500 and under I think I'd look at the 140 AH. This is the bullet I'm planning to run in my upcoming 280 AI. In my other 280 AI for even closer shooting I'm using the 154 AH hammer deadblow. Maybe look over the load data spreadsheets on here for the HH and AH to see what matches up for your Application.

Under 500 yards. The data for the 7max(7SAUM improved) with the 120 and H4350 at 3450-3600 fps is impressive.
Or the 143 at 3K fps with the SAUM and H4350
It looks as if the data has been updated since I looked at it a few weeks ago with the 7saum and others with similar capacities.

You might check with Steve. I emailed with him when I looked to try some in my 7SAUM. 22" 8.5 twist on mine. He recommended the 143 HH. Havent tried them yet though.

Yes I've talked with him several times about other cartridges over the years just not the SAUM. On everything there was never a bad or incorrect choice regarding bullet weight if following the recommended twist rate.
