7 RUM starting points

Just bought a 7 rum. Needing some starting points for retumbo and 168 and 180 Berger vlds. I know to start lower than someone's loads but any load info is greatly appreciated.

what powders??? I liked rl25 with mine with 140's but stepped up to I 5010 with 175's. I could dig up data if you want to go with either powder.

I have some retumbo on hand but can probably borrow some rl25 from a buddy

94-95 grains rl25 with a 140 will net you 3500 fps (depending on the bullet of course for charge weight). I was using either 95 rl25 with a 140 sierra pro hunter and a 215 in rem brass or 95 I 5010 with a hornady 175 and a 215 in rem brass. My I 5010 has since turned into lawn fertilizer and my rum has been traded away, but I'm getting the hankering again for a 7rum.
I've got my longest kill to date at over 700 yards with the sierra 140 from a 7rum from sitting with no gadget help and a standard cross-hair.

Thanks. That is an impressive kill. I bought the 7 in hopes of having a 195 gr bullet one of these days. If not I will have fun shooting the factory barrel out.

If you are set on retumbo the Hodgdon data is really close. My brother is shooting retumbo in his 7rum with 150's.
