Anyone work up any loads with this combonation or play with heavier bullets in the 7 rem with 8133? I have a load with H1000 pushing these bullets at 2975 out of my Tikka, however with h1000 nearly impossible to find, I started looking for other options. I found an 4 pounds of 8133 so I ordered it. If I could pick up a little speed that would be great but hoping this stuff isn't too temp sensitive?

I don't have any experience with it first hand but from what I've read you should be fine. The new line of those IMR powders are probably not as stable as the Hodgdon extremes but they do pretty well from 20/30F up to 80-85F. Then they can start to get more wild.

8133 is closer to retumbo than H1000 but you should be fine. I've had good luck with retumbo in the 7RM in the past.

8133 is supposed to be a temp stable powder, you provably won't see much variation.

In case 8133 dont work, RL23 is another powder you can try on the 7mm Rem Mag, similar velocities to H1000 and temp stable as well.

Give 8133 a shot and hope it works out.

Stay safe

The powder will be here tomorrow - will be working with FED 215s, Hornady brass, 168 berger classics.... Hoping to safely get to 3k and accuracy with low ES.

I just worked up some loads using 8133 and 175gr ELD-Xs, good accuracy and ES. Accuracy node was at a lower velocity than H1000. I'm going to try IMR 7977 next. Both of these powders seem to be readily availabl.

I got up to 3075fps with the 8133 no pressure signs but accuracy was going the wrong way and was starting to compress powder charge (ADG brass). Best load with H1000 is at 3050fps. H1000 is great with both the ELD-Xs and Berger VLDs but I need to save it for my .300 Win Mag. This is out of a 26" Proof barrel. I'm up to 2950 with IMR 7977 (69.5 grs), going to load with a higher charge and see how it goes.

It is not a 7mm rem mag but my 30-378 loves it
