I'm having a rifle rebarrelled to 7mm PRC that will be 22" in length. I plan on shooting the Hammer 153gr HHT bullets and was wondering what type of powder you guys have had success with this bullet/length combination. Thanks for your time!

H4831sc. Exceptional accuracy and velocity in a 20" bbl @ 200 yds.(target attached) 400 yd groups sub .5 moa

I've tried 4831SC and N568, both will do very well, 2900 or so fps with 175 gr. Have been looking for 8lbs of H1000, but I don't really need it.

Good luck

Can you share what bullet and what velocity was achieved?

I had very poor velocity results with H4831 and 180 gr out of a 20" 7PRC. It just built pressure way early in load development. H1000 was just too slow of a burn rate. R26 did the trick with 175 ELDX at 2900.

You may not have been asking me, but I got 0.45" groups with 65.4 gr 4831SC and 162gr Eld-M with avg MV of 2936 from a 24" Proof bbl.

I am still working on a load for my 7 PRC with the 153 HHT using H-4350 getting good results under .75 moa and a MV of about 3200. Still trying do dial it in a little more
Can I ask your load details. What brass, charge weight and overall cartridge length. I just started break in on mine but once it speeds up gonna start load work with the 153HHTs. Thanks!

I'm using ADG Brass, Coal 3.27 64.3 Gr H-4350 MV 3263. I am going to back this down a little more. A week ago I went to the range was trying to see If crimping would get my groups tighter. A light crimp did tighten them up a little but bolt lift was a little too heavy and I could see faint ejector marks this time. It was quite a bit warmer this time I shot. Shot well though. Just under .5 MOA at 200 yards 6 shot group. 28.88 ES 10.52 SD. My next loads I will back down .5 grain less and see how it does.
