7 mag load

I just bought a sako in 7 mag. With the ****** selection of powders, what is a go to load for the 7mag? Planning on 160 - 168 grain bullets

I'm using RL23 for those bullets with great results. H1000 is another great option and many love RL26, this last one just a litle temp sensitive.

Have also used H4831 and IMR4831 with excellent accuracy. Not the highest velocities, but solid performers.

Things are impossible to get right now. My first choice in powder is RL26 for 160+ grain bullets and after that I would try H1000, Retumbo, and for anything lighter than 160gr I would use RL23.

7828 always seems easier to find for me and works very well for said wait class.

H1000, mag primers, good brass. The 5 I load for like .030 off the lands, shooting 160AB's

I use H1000, Retumbo and RL 26. H1000 for 168 VLD's, Retumbo for 180 VLD's and RL 26 for 140 VLD's.

Retumbo with 168 gr Bergers and Federal 215M best group was .58 at 200yds, 3 shots I couldn't force myself to go for 5 shots!
