6mm JDJ info needed

I am interested in moving into a handgun for hunting. I came across a beautiful looking 6 JDJ bull barreled ported w/Leupold scoped TC. Any info on this cartridge would be appreciated as I'm unaware of the parent case configurations and this cartridges abilities. Thanks for your time.
