6mm Creedmoor 80 grain Barnes TSX

I was passed up in Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota nephew called and said I could get a doe tag in North Dakota. So I did. One of my funniest hunting trips. Nephew went out with his wife opener Shoshone her first deer. I dident see ****.
Saturday went to his area since I did not see any thing. Saturday so dam foggy could not see more then 50 yards nephew said lets go to Mt and fill my buck tag I said ok drove abought 20 minutes into Montana walked for abought 15 minutes seen 2 bu ks laying down taking a nap was able to get within 240 yards .never go out of its bed.
Sunday foggy and rainy so stayed home and watched football.
Monday went back to his spot seen few deer nothing worth shooting. Nephew said lets go shoot your deer. Drove over to my zone walked for abought 20 minutes nephew said there's your deer my bipod was to short for shooting up hill. Belly crawled up to some rocks where I could get the angel 250 yards and the Barns 150 grain TTSX coming out of the 28 Nosler did its job. Afterwards loaded it up in the truck nephew said lets go shoot my buck. Went back to his zone after we set up seen alot of deer then a nice shooter buck turned up nephew ranged it i ranged it 340 yards his 6.5 pro did a smack down on that buck . Only thing he shot it across a ravine witch made the drag 3x further . All ready looking forward to next year going to try a different powder would like to use the 168 grain barns lrx next year

A very close hunting friend has taken some beautiful WT using a 6mm Ruger M-77 and later rebarreled to 6mmAI with the slightly older 95gr TSX bullets. His son and daughter have used them as well in a .243 shooting 80gr TTSX bullets. All one shot kills, many DRT. All were shot inside of 250 yards. He swears by these bullets. If you run the numbers... I think he said his 6ai (3400fps) is an honest 500 yard gun with at least 1000 ft/lbs of energy at that distance.

An update for anyone interested... I have finally used this load and taken 3 NE dogs with it. Pencil hole in, dime sized out and all drt. Ranges were 110,130 and 400 and all were broad side shots! Haven't hit a shoulder yet so still waiting to see that but usually those are messy with any caliber from past experiences.

Jeremy (and others shooting those 80s in a 6 CM) what's your barrel twist and load?
Barrel length is 22", twist is 1:7.7... it's a Ruger American Predator factory barrel. Load is 41.5 H4350, cci 200 primers, Hornady or federal brass, cbto 2.145 or 2.595 coal. This powder charge is above max according to the Nosler book to advise

Thank you! I may work up that load for my ruger #1. Have not got back from gunsmith who re chambered it. He was going to get me the twist rate. I have others with 8 and 71/2 twists

Anytime!! This barrel has shot everything pretty decent from 80 grain to 105's. I've got 1650 rounds down it so it's almost time for me to rebarrel i would assume. Send some updates with what you find to work for yours when you get it back, always like to hear what is working for others!

I've just put together a 6MMCM; Remington 700 PCR Enhanced. I've LabRadar'd a few Ladder test so far. I'll gladly share information here if anyone wants it.
The more the merrier!!! Not a lot of info out there on this round with lighter weight projectiles.. any info is much appreciated!

This was my last time out. 29Dec20

I've got some load development awaiting my next range visit. 75&87gr VMAX
by mid January should have 109gr Berger hybrid Tgt over some new alpha SRP.
8twist should shoot these ok given the 6CM flagship rd is the 108gr.

Oh one more thing I forgot to mention. Barnes TTSX perform better seating them at "Sammy" COAL (or deeper) not short jump as others do. This has been my experience in the 6.5 CM, 270 win and definitely the Gen one Barnes pills in this 6mmCM (the XFB projectile)
