6mm Creedmoor 80 grain Barnes TSX

Haven't been able to find much out there about this round in the 6mm Creedmoor for hunting. I was able to get a nice buck this morning with this projectile loaded over some H4350 and had great results. Deer was a DRT at 160 yards, not long range by any means but I wanted to post results. This was a frontal shot that penetrated straight through the heart and one lung turning them into soup. Projectile was recovered right under the hide at the diaphragm which measured 23" into the animal. Perfect pedaling of the projectile, devastating to the animal and an overall great experience. Deer is 212lbs dressed and rack is destroyed from fighting but I hunt for meat so this was an easy choice lol. I would have no issues with an 80 grain Barnes at distance and a broadside shot on whitetails or Muleys with the penetration I had!! Anyone else using Barnes in a 6mm platform??

Been using them in 243 Win for a few years. Only recovered one. Sharp quartering away neck shot. Near same penetration. Alot of bone in there. Textbook expansion.

I run the 88 grain hammer hunters in mine and they are exactly what I'm looking for and more tons of fragmentation and damage ever where.

The antelope I shot was in the chest and it hit hard! I've got a bunch loaded up as well hoping they will be decent on pelts.

I'll let you know my results when I climb down. 3550 fps muzzle velocity, 15 yds. We'll see how that turns out. Lol

Post some pics if you could!! The reason I went to the 80 grain TSX is to try and find a universal round for yote and deer and the occasional fox. Hoping for a pencil hole in and out on the dogs

I was mistaken on my shot this morning. It was so thick and it was just behind two crossed logs, straddling one of them in 3 inches of leaves. But make no mistake, they are not, and I repeat not fur friendly.

When I shot, I thought it was. Misleading due to extremely thick cover. It's a coyote.

If you are looking for a fur friendly bullet, the .224 77g Cayuga from Patriot Valley Arms is the ticket. This has been the least damaging bullet I have found. .235 G7 .bc, monolithic bullet, and reasonably priced.

I use the 80gr TTSX in my .240 Wby. Has worked flawlessly for me and drops them like a rock. every time. Here's a doe I took with it at 125yds in Texas last year. She dressed around 60#, so not that big, but didn't move a step from where she was standing. 6mm entry hole and about a golf ball sized exit. Entry was right behind her left shoulder and exit was same on opposite side. Big holes in both lungs and heart.
