6mm bullets for hunting

115 Berger hunting vld my favorite. Shots lots of deer with them, a few antelope and elk . Used the 108 elite hunter for a few deer but like the 115 the best.

95g SST
95g Nosler ballistic tip
95g Partitioin
100g Partition
100g BTSP Hornady
100g flat base hornady
105g bthp Hornady
105g VLD Berger Hunting,

the95G SST is a lot tougher bullet that you would ever Think!!! EXTREMELY accurate is the 95g SST and the 95g Nosler ballistic tip.

We have killed a lot of big hogs with the 100g BTSP!

I shoot the 105 Hyb in my 6CM. 3188fps, puts a whooping on deer and pronghorn, amd coyotes hate them to death.
Only ever recovered one.

I used 100gr noslers partions. I've taken a few big bucks and 2 elk with it in my youth. To be fair there wasn't alot of options like today, but if was going to hunt with it again I'd stick with the 100gr Partitions.

My logic is that past 300-400 yards you really start to lose energy. and with the smaller bullet it's gets tossed around in the wind more.
Given this Im not wanting to shoot much past 400 yards.
Ive tried the new bullets, Berger, etc. I don't see the suggested wind holds to be that accurate vs. a 215 or 230 hybrid where they seem shoot better in the wind. I also appreciate how it handles the shoulder blade and bone vs. some other bullets.

I've had really good luck with the 107SMK and am now playing with the 112 match burner in my 6-284.

The 112 seems a to be more frangible than the 107 did. I wacked a doe antelope at 320 last year and it was quite explosive at a MV of 3400. I want to get a couple more at that range & see how consistent it is. I'll stretch it to 500-600 where I feel this bullet will really shine.

My son has excellent accuracy with the Berger 87gr VLDH. Javelina and coyotes go down easily. These were hard to find recently, but we found 500 locally at a very decent price. The 95s weren't bad with decent accuracy.

I do not hunt with any match bullets. 100gr Partition, 100gr Spirepoint, and what ever one shoots the best in the rifle. Done!

It's all good man. I use the 85grn partition in my 6mmAI, it shoots great & works very well, but I keep it inside ~350yds. Drop & drift are not friends of the Partition.

Stuff is not hard to kill, put the bullet where it belongs!

The only problems I have had was with bullets that blew up on the surface or bullets(very rare) that did not expand well(less rare).

I have a bunch of the 107's to shoot once my 109 Berger's are done. Hoping they perform as well
