I am looking for advice/recommendations on action choices for a 6.8 Western build. I'd like to finish up with a flush mount or bdl bottom metal Fitment.

It depends on your goals for the rifle, but a Pierce short action in either Titanium or stainless with a Wyatt's extended mag box or Hawkins Hunter DBM. These will both allow you to run 2.980-2.990" COAL in a short action.
