6.5x284 loads

I bought a Cooper Mod. 52 in 6.5x284 last year. shot a box of HSM 140 Berger VLD and 5 Norma Factory 156 Oryx. one doe whitetail with the 156 Oryx and one doe antelope with the 140 VLD. I like the round as much as my 6.5 PRC's and a little better than my 6.5 Creeds. Purchased 100 Lapua brass and 50 Hornady. I know, I found them first... I bought some Redding Precision dies also. I'm excited to start loading for it so I'll be following this thread also ! :)

My 6.5-.285 I'm using 51.5 RL-23 lapua brass federal 210m primers 24" 1:8 and suppressor

I'm only getting 2864fps

My cousin and I both used the same load in our 6.5-284 1k benchrest rifles. 48.5 gr H4350 with Lapua brass, Fed Gold Medal Match primers, 140 gr Bergers. We were running 3000-3050 if I recall correctly. We had tight necks so we had to turn our case necks. My best groups at Williamsport 1k was 6.8". Gun was better than I was no doubt. Hart accurized Remington 700 with a Hart 28" stainless barrel. As always work up to this load with caution. Your gun may not like this load.

My load with a long action and 24" barrel.

Lapua brass
215M
Berger 140 VLD
53 grains of H4831SC

Gives me 2960fps and .25 MOA all day long as long as I do my part.
Your load is similar to mine.
54.5 gr H4831
Rem 9 1/2
Berger 140 hybrid .072 off lands
Lapua brass

2940 in a 24" barrel
Test load at 300 yards gave me a 1.1" 5 shot group with a gusting side wind
