I've got a 280AI and just built a 6.5x280AI, which is just a 280AI case necked down to 6.5mm. I'm trying to find the best load for the 6.5 and was wondering if I could use the same powders and charge weight for similar weight bullets. Like a Berger 6.5mm 140 vs 7mm Berger 140? I really want to try the new 156gr EOL in the 6.5x280. The 6.5x280 pushes Berger 140 3150-3200fps. So the 156 should be over 3000

Start with established 6.5-06 load data and work up. Call berger, they no longer email load data but are more than happy to provide it via telephone.

In dropping cal the pressure is pushing through a smaller hole. So the powder will need to be slower burning, for a longer slower easier push on the bullet, to keep pressure peak from running away.
