6.5PRC vs. 7mm RM vs 280 ai out of shorter barrel

I have a Sako mannlicher carbine in 7RM with 20" barrel. It does make a handy package and looses about 225 fps over a 26" if that matters to you. It shoots very well but is a fire belching loud blunder bus.

Do a rearch on super bush pig a lot of NZ hunters do the exact thing you are after with the Tikka action but they use a 284.Hope this helps

The first cartridge that popped in my head was the 270 Sherman Short. 22" barrel 150 grain bullet at 3k FPS.

The only thing not to like is the cost of reamer, gauges and brass and mainly because it's all single sourced.

6.5 -06. Same ballistics as the PRC with unlimited amounts of inexpensive brass. The game never knows the difference.
