I bought a Stiller TAC 30 action to start a new project. I sold my semi-custom 700VTR chambered in .308 win and decided to build a custom rifle. After giving it a lot of tought I narrowed it to 3 calibers 6mm XC, .260 Rem and 6.5 Creedmmoor. I did more research and defined more clearly what I wanted out of this rifles so I discarded the 6mm XC. After viewing some reload data I find that with the heavier bullets the .260 Rem outperforms the 6.5 creedmoor in terms of MV. It seems to be around 200 fps faster with the 140´s.
Is there something I´m missing?? I was about to buy brass and reamer for the 6.5 CM, but now I´m stuck. I read wonderful reviews about the CM but I want to use a 24"-25" barrel so don´t know if that will make the CM even slower, 2500 ish vs the 2700-2750 advertised on the .260 rem reloading data.
