I have a CA Ridgeline in 6.5x284 with a 26" 1-8" twist. I have Lapua brass H-1000 and RL-17 with Berger 140 Elite Hunters. Anyone have a good recipe for this combination?
Thank You In Advance!!!

Call berger there is a number on their website for technical assistance I just called the other day and got recipes for 156 EOL bullets and several different powders

Sorry was it a factory rifle or GS made/ If GS made the problem should shoud have been corrected. Keep us posted
I think he was referring to Christianson arms they've had several problems a while back I heard they're got some straightened out recently but I have no experience with them

Just remember to start with starting loads and work up, brand of brass, bullet length and seating depth can impacted pressure significantly. I have found myself 2 whole grains above published load data with no pressure sign and I have also hit pressure 2 whole grains s below published max.

Start at the lower range of powder loads and work up. Watch your primers for create or ejector mark's at the base. Flatten primers is one thing. Create and ejector marks are signs that your are to hot. Their lot of reason for to much pressure. So go slow.
There is lots of reasons for being to hot. Ask question, and read.

That's the wrong bullet, he's looking at the 140 Berger Elite Hunter.

I run 56-56.5 H1000 depending on powder lot. I got to 57 and got pressure signs. Backed off to 56.5 and was very good accuracy. Start around 53-54 and work up.

Lapua Brass, 56-56.5 H1000, CCI 200, 2.484 CBTO, brass neck chamfered in and out, brass trimmed to 2.160. Runs just below 3000 fps

H4831SC is very good also. Some have had good results with RL26.

Typically the numbers in every book seem to be low for a 6.5x284 Norma. Most only say 6.5-284 and are made for the short action version. I'm still using up my remaining Matrix 160s and using 53.3 grains of H1000 behind them with no pressure signs.
