6.5 velocities

6.5-300 26" 7 twist
131 hammer@ 3527 very accurate could probably push faster but why? Got 10 of these out of the classifieds and blown away at how well they shoot basically tossed them over my lrx load and viola.

What velocities are you getting out of these calibers? 6.5 prc,6.5 284, 6.5 300, 260, 6.5 06, 6.5 saum?

All the same calibre - 6.5mm or .264 inch.

Cartridges are different.

Nice! Have you tried any of the heavier pills?

My 24" CA Ridgline 6.5 PRC is getting 3020 fps with a Berger 140 vld with 58.2 gr of retumbo. I think there is room for more but it shoots great right there.

My Cooper JLR 26" barrel is at 3100 fps with a Berger 140 vld and 56.5 gr of retumbo. I really thought my magneto speed was lying but a labradar said the same 3100 fps.

You didn't mention the Sherman cartridges, but since they have parents of the ones mentioned, I didnt think you would mind. I will use examples of loads with the 4 or 5 top powders at near max with a 26" barrel. N570, N565, RL26, 8133 RL33. Most other slower powders from 4831 up would yield 50' less

The 6.5 300 Weatherby is probably the fastest factory round at 3315 ft/sec with a 140 grain bullet. This is factory ammo in standard barrel lengths.
Holly crap that is smoking! Is the brass expensive for this round and easy to find?

What stock is that?

A Bell and Carlson medalist that I modified. Shaved down the squared off forend to make it feel better in the hand, sanded the whole thing down, filled voids in fiberglass with bondo, added flushcups, used epoxy to add grip panels, and painted it.

What case does it use?

Parent case is a SAUM in the short action versions, and a .270 winchester or .280 Remington in the long action versions.

I did try the 156 berger in both rifles and wasn't getting the accuracy like the 140s so I figured why change whats working.
