Well I was pleased to get home today and find out that my 6.5 SST had arrived from Mr. Dave Bruno. This is the second rifle he has built for me and I'm very pleased. Can't wait to get the chamber measured and start loading for it.

Just worked up a few different bullets and powders at the bottom end of starting loads to break the barrel in today. I am amazed at how accurate this rifle/round combo is. I have several custom builds and all are fairly light hunting rifles. Less than 8lbs scoped, and none have been this easy to start. 143 ELD-x (RL 26), 140 Speer Gold Dot (RL 26) and 142 LRAB (N565) all shot stupid accurate. Next time out I will work higher end for my desired speed then depth. I'll get some targets posted. I have speed data for what I shot today if anyone wants it for general 6.5 SST info.

care to share your starting load for this? Thanks!

58gr and work up. I ended up at 61 and ~3050 fps. .1 off lands. No pressure. I was shooting for 3050 and had no reason to go higher. Compressed load.

I ended up loading 143gr ELD-x with RL 26, 142gr LRAB with N565, 140gr Speer Gold Dot with N565, and 130gr Sierra Gamechangers with RL 23. All shot great so I loaded several of each across the 150 pieces of brass I have.
