6.5 saum powder question

Hello all. Ive got a 6.5 saum im trying to work a load up for. Ive heard the go to powder is H1000. I want to try another powder to see if i cant tighten my groups. What would be another good powder to try. Im leaning toward retumbo or maybe R-23. Open to any suggestions. Im shooting 156 bergers and 143 Eldx. Thanks

Rl23 is good for 130 gainers. For 140gr, H1000/N565/7977/RL26 are good. For the 156, RL26, Retumbo, N570 will probably give best results. Idk if you can get enough Rl33 in there to pressure up. I tried 8133 in my 6.5 max(improved saum)and it gave less speed before pressure than all the powders listed above with the 156 accept 7977, I didn't try that one.

I used H1000 with the 143eldx and then switched to RL26 and 147 eldms. I got the same speed and accuracy with less powder with rl26. I haven't played around with any other powders in my saum.

Ive ran retumbo with great success in other cartridges but I haven't used it in my 6.5 saum. I do have confidence that it would work really well. I have only ran N570 in my saum. I do have to put the N570 in with a long drop tube funnel to get it settled into the case so that its not full to the mouth. I haven't tried any other powders cause I had excellent results with the n570.

I use retumbo in my 6.5 saum with the 140 vld. It works great

I use H1000 or RL23 for up to 156 Bergers. Great results, good speeds. N565 is another great choice for that case size, I use it in my 20" 6.5SS for 2976fps w. 156s.

I recently tried some N570 and it worked very well. H1000 will never did you wrong in the SAUM. I've also used R26 in a limited sample size but it works well.

I am using 58.2gr of H1000 with the 156's .030 off the lands. Speed 2909avg 24" barrel. Shoots great. If I tried another powder it would be RL26.
