I’ve had better luck with RL26 than H1000 as far as pressure issues when working up loads. Therefore, I was able to get better velocities with RL26 and SD’s. Both shot well for accuracy, but I prefer RL26 myself for the 6.5 prc when loading Berger 140’s. Also, as a note to other comments regarding RL26 not being temperature stable - Alliant website indicates that RL16, RL23 and RL26 are all temp stable powders. You can’t go wrong with either powder, but IMO it’s hard to go wrong with RL26 in the cartridge bullet combination you are asking about. I’ve reloaded for at least 12 factory and custom 6.5 prc rifles and for the most part RL26 outperform H1000.

Use what you have and save your money. Work up a load that shoots good and move on. RL 26 is awesome in my 6.5 PRC but I can tell you I wouldn't pay $500.00 for and 10lb jug. I got it when it was still on the shelf like everything else. A little extra speed is not the answer to everything. I shoot a 7mm LRM with 180's going 2998 FPS for almost all of my hunting and it kills everything, one shot, very few blood trails to follow usually dead within sight. No blazing speed, no lightning bolts shooting out of the sky it when it goes off, just plain & simple accurate and deadly. You have everything you need. Work up a load and go have some fun! Just My Opinion Fella's

We shoot rl-26 in our 6.5 PRCs. My son's is a Mesa LR 26" running 3200fps with 143 eld-x. Very accurate! Mine is an MPR with 24" running 3150 with 143 eld-x. He's a better shot than i am. This is 5 shots in a total of 30 minutes with 8-10mph crosswind. 1st pic 400 yds, 1st shot low R, made adjustment, 2nd shot bullseye, 2nd pic 600 yds, 3rd pic 700 yds, 4th pic 800 yds. I'd say accuracy is good enough for us!

I have lots of Retumbo, H 1000, H 4831, H 4350, RL 33, RL 25, RL23,...... but no RL 26. Is it worth spending $500.00 on 10 LBS just to try? I'll be shooting 140 Berger Hybrids since I have lots

Thanks,
Tod.
I run H1000 in my 6.5 PRC. I get good velocity, low SD And ES and great accuracy

I use RL26 in 2 65 PRCs & 300 WM. I can’t find another powder to match the performance, but I sure wouldn’t pay that price. Must be Bruno’s.

With many suitable powders on the shelf I wouldn't buy 10 pounds of anything for $500. Prices will drop when people stop panicking and you can ride it out until then.

I've found the accuracy similar to H1000. I was able to get more velocity with the 120GMX from RL-26, but not enough that I'd stop shooting the bullet if I only had H1000. Looks like you have plenty of time powder's, don't get caught up in the hype.

I get 1/4" groups consistently from RL-26 with 140 grain ELD-M's. As far as temp stability is concerned, I haven't had a problem, but I don't live in Arizona. The rifle is an off the shelf Christensen Arms MPR with a Leupold Mk 5HD, 7-35X56 in 6.5 PRC.
