Would like to hear what barrel length is most appealing for you if you were going to have a 6.5 prc with a heavy barrel, such as a sendero contour etc..

I guess tgat would depend on intended use and if you need to squeeze every last ounce of juice out of cartridge I use a #5 for my 6.5 Max at 23 " that's a good compromise on length, weight vs speed loss. It's my long range hunter. If I was going to go longer and still wanted packability I would go proof in 26". I really don't think your Gona miss out on enough to make a difference between 26-24. I'm looking at a 6.5 PRC for my GF and Christensen makes Theirs in a 24 if we build her one it will be a 22" #4

What bullet & speeds are you. Getting.
156 EOL, 26" 1-7 Proof Sendero. Easily to 3000fps and up to 3050 at max loads. Over 3000 with RE26, N565 and H1000. Still trying to decide on a load between RE26 and N565. Both are doing real well at 300 yards. Just haven't had the opportunity to shoot them at 1k to check vertical etc. Only around 35 rounds down barrel so still breaking in brass and barrel.

Ive never run n565. How does it compare to rl26 in burn rate & case fill/bulk density? I've ran Rl26 in a couple different rifles and really liked it. I've ran n570 in two rifles, one 28" bbl and one 26" bbl. I get a lot cleaner burn in the 28" with n570. Makes me wonder if I rebarrel the 26" to 28" if I would get a cleaner burn in that one.

Heck make it a 28" or even 30! You can always cut it down but hard to stretch later.

I use the same cartridge necked up a bit, a 338 RCM, in a 30" barrel shooting the 300 gr Berger. I generally use it for LR fun on steel but did flatten a coues wt with it once. The 30" barrel is not an issue for me in S. Az. where things are very open and cross canyon shooting is common for these deer. FYI it is in a Joel Russo stock a real joy to shoot prone.

Be sure to share with us what you did and your results.

I'm liking 28" barrels more and more. My favorite is 26" but I've got plenty of those along with 22" & 24" Sure makes it easy to get outstanding velocity in a 28" plus. And easy to shoot also.
