What's a realistic velocity to expect from the 156's out of a 21" tube (Seekins Havak Element) ?

With the right powder like RL26/H1000 - high 2700s likely. Its about 50fps per inch, but will vary barrel to barrel. Plus this will be after the barrel breaks all the way in and you hit the speed up usually after 100-250 rounds.

56.0gr RE26 will get 2,900 ft/sec in my 23.5" Proof barrel. Your 21" tube would cost you about 75 ft/sec IMO.
57.0 gr RE26 reached 2,950 ft/sec but primers were beginning to flatten. Bolt lift remained normal.

With hand loads and a high energy powders like rl26 or N565 I would think 2800-2850, maybe better depending on barrel would be attainable. Take off 50-75 fps for other suitable powders.

If you can find it, look up data for similar length 6.5x284 tubes, you will be essentially the same.

Old thread but adding data from my recent Element load work up. I'm loading in the middle of a wide node at 57.5gr H1000 virgin ADG brass 2913 avg FPS over 10 shots and SD 10. I'm sure SD will tighten on 1x fired brass. Fed210m primers and 3.070 oal. I am shooting through a Gunwerks 6ix suppressor for what it's worth.

That's a pretty nice velocity from a 21in barrel. Have you hit your barrel speed-up yet? It looks like with that 6in can you are duplicating a lot of 24in barrel velocities I've seen.

Yes rifle has approximately 275rds through it. My broke in 24" proof shot the same loads at 2960

I have a 6.5 PRC PLUS P chambered by Defensive Edge ADG Bass 24 inch Bartlien Barrel 62.3 grains H 1000 3073 FPS ES 3 and SD 1.7
Shooting the 156 Berger's Shawn builds great rifles
