I finally got to the range with these 129 gr Nosler AB LRs loaded for my Savage 260 Rem LRP target rifle. In a word, they sucked. The 4-shot group measured 3.218" at 200 yards. I was also testing some Berger 140 grain Hunting VDLs with a new powder. They grouped 1.062" which is about average for this rifle (and the guy pulling the trigger).

So that brings me to my question. Has anyone got these 129 gr Nosler AB LRs to shoot? In a 260 Rem? If so, what was your load?

I just got some of those myself going to try them this weekend in my 6.5-284. The 7mm 168 lrab does not perform in my 7wsm i was shrinking the group but ran out of clip. Same bullet shoots 1.5" at 300 in buddys 7rem mag. I had to get them close to the lands in the rem. But cant in the wsm. Hope the 6.5s shoot

I gather from the lack of response that DPO and myself may be early adopters of these bullets. So... it looks like it is up to us to get them to shoot and report the data. They are going to have to show some dramatic improvement but I will see what I can do.

I have a 6.5 in the works. I was wondering if should try those. I have some Berger 140s and Matrix 142s and 160s. I think I will stick with those.

I took the 260 Rem back to the range today to give the 129 gr 6.5mm AB LRs another try. I decided to change powders to something that is working pretty good with the 140 Berger hunting VLDs (H4831SC). I prefer H4350 as it gives super low ES but can't find any. Anyway, load was 46.0 grains, 2.910" COAL about 0.007" off the lands, new Lapua brass, Fed 210 primers. Velocity averaged 2,796 fps out of the LRP 26" tube. It put 4 shots into 1.718" at 200 yards. I'll try a couple of more tweaks to see if that can be improved.

Not great so far. Shooting at 300. So far 3" is all i can get. Going to keep trying. Used same powder charge i use for reg accubonds that shoot 2" at 300. Touching then .030 off the .060 off. Touching gave the 3" and it just got worse from there.

Getting better still shooting at 300yds. Had to back charge down one grain best results have been
005 off lands as best as i can tell. And so far thats been true for me with the 7mm lrab as well.
