6.5 Load

I use IMR 4350 41.5 grains 140 A Max good accuracy decent velocity. just under 2900fps. I no not a lot os fans of this powder here but works for many loads I've developed.
I also have good velocities with IMR 4350 in two 6.5 Creedmoors. Around 2800 with 143 ELDX from two TC Compas rifles. I have questioned my chronograph because it seems too high. load is 0.3 below Hodgdon max.

Trying to find a load for the 6.5 cm. So far I have tried the IMR 4831 powder loaded with 41 grains. It shot pretty good in the gun but I recently read that this is a slower shooting powder. The gun(a browning hells canyon with 22in barrel). The velocity is 2620 so I really didn't want to go lower that. I have also tried the h4350 with 40.8 grains and had a decent group but wasn't as good as the IMR 4831. Any load suggestions? Shooting the 143 Eldx bullet. Thanks!
Sako S20 143 gr Eldx with 41 gr H4350
Fed large rifle primers, Starline brass
.560" at 100yds ,Velocity is 2665
3.7 SD

I load for 6 different creeds. I use 4350 and 135 Berger Classic hunter. Every one of them at around 2850 fps. shoot outstanding. Haven't had any pressure problems. I will say as always use caution but one friend had an 18" barrel built. I had it shooting what I thought was good enough but he wanted it to shoot like the others. Kept increasing charge and when it hit 2840-50 range shot fantastic

H4350 work up to 41.5 gr. Deadly combo

Can not speak to 143s…
147 ELDM
Fed small rifle match primer
Lapua brass
41.6 H4350
consistent SD below 5 (some 3s)
2740 FPS
All holes connected at 100yds
very happy with groups at 900 yds
24" barrel

I'm certainly not the end all in regards to the 6.5 CM but I'll tell you what I know from loading for 3 different 6.5 CM's. H4350 is the gold standard for powder, followed by Reloder 16, Staball 6.5, Reloder 17, Varget (lighter bullets), Superformance amongst others. If any of the Hornady bullets in the 140gr-147gr will not shoot well after load developement with these powders, then there's an issue. Try the 143gr ELDX or the 140gr ELDM and you'll fins a good load.
Finding powder is the hard part!

I was wondering how the small primers were working with the Lapua , seems that combination is a lot easier to get a hold of

I use the lapua brass with small rifle primers. Usually the federal 205 match.Have had great results.

41.5 gr IMR or H4350 with a 140 Ballistic Tip is bad medicine for deer. About 2700 fps and very accurate out of multiple rifles.

A good bullet in front of H4350 is the goto load for most 6.5 CMs. If you want one of the best hunting loads, shoot the 124 gr Hammer Hunter in front of Varget

I'm really happy with the small rifle primers. Saw a test where a group of lapua cases for Creedmoor were loaded at maximum 25 times and cases were still going strong. As I said earlier, ES and SD were low. SD always less than 5 and most of the time in the 3s. Anneal, full length size and trim every firing.
