6/47 lapue

I am trying to get info on this caliber for hunting antelope mainly. most of the info is target shooting how does it compare to the 6mm creedmoor at say five houndred yards as far as energy goes. would it be better for antelope at that yardage using a 100 bal tip bullets

Any thing the 6 Creedmoor will do, the 6x47 Lapua will do. In theory the Creedmoor case has slightly larger capacity but I doubt anyone would ever notice the difference, especially at 500 yards.

The data I have found has the 6mm-6.5 x 47 Lapua yielding 2900 or so with a 105 gr bullet. Depends on barrel length. More than a 6 BR less than a 243 in velocity.....
