50 Spotter ?

I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried using the 50 Spotter or similar Wildcat as a long range @ 1000 yards and under hunting/target rifle cartridge? As it has muzzle energies just under the 338 Lapua Magnum? And can use the high BC 50 BMG Bullets. Thanks in advance for any thoughts opinions or answers.

Guys have used it and also necked it down. Takes a lot of work and money to shoot. I would just build a 338-416 Rigby Improved or 338 Lapua Imp. Then you could go out farther and have all the energy needed. For the distances you are talking a lot of guns will work and be more accurate and cheaper. Matt
