.50 cal Barrett tactical sniper rifle

I think if you look in the back issues of Very High Power Magazine you'll see Skip Talbot shooting a Barrett single shot and setting a world record with it.It is also on most of Barretts current ads.The rifle used had a K-P brake and he added the borerider chamber a $200 upgrade on an otherwise stock rifle. The brass that has set all the current world records is IMI and sells at Wideners for $1 a round for the first 100 and you get a price break on quantity.Lapua 338 brass is typicaly more expensive.Military surplus ammo is cheap junk and should never be considered for any long range use and semi-automatics in my experience simply can't compare to a good bolt gun.About your comment that few matches are won with MOA accuracy you forgot to mention the amount of ammo to be shot in both light and heavy and the number of shooters attending.Very few matches in smaller caliber events 6mm.6.5,7mm,30,338 have all that many shooters shooting 1 MOA groups over the entire weekend and considering 200 light guns and 175 heavys that ain't good. The 50 will hang with any of the smaller calibers out to 1000 yards and simply walk away from ALL of them as the distance is increased.
