410 for turkey?

Nice! That TSS is a game changer. Expensive, but for certain applications, totally worth the cost.
The thing is, honestly how many shots are your firing for turkey hunting? It may have a high cost per shot, but when 20 rounds will get many people by for years, it really doesn't matter much. I'm not going to use it for an Alberta waterfowl hunt where we are shooting limits of specs and ducks, but for a couple turkeys a year? I think I could justify that....

Another spring Gobbler with a single shot 410-#6 shot did him in!
9.5 pounds 'undressed'.

Got a new .410 and I cannot wait to use it this Spring along side the new Hevi 18 TSS Turkey loads from Hevishot.
The .410 is gaining an amazing amount of popularity with avid turkey hunters. My suggestion if you are using
a .410 is to select a premium shotgun shell like the Hevi 18 TSS Turkey. The Hevi 18 shells will give you the knock
down power and extended range you need to compensate for the lower gauge shotgun. Good Luck.

Nope, not an exaggeration. When compared, #9 TSS shot will penetrate the same as #4 lead at 40yds. A 13/16 oz #9 TSS 410 load has 294 pellets. A 2.25 oz #4 12ga load has 306 pellets. And the TSS patterns better. A typical 410 load of 9.5 TSS will put 200+ pellets in a 10" circle at 40yds. 9.5 TSS would compare to #5 lead. It would be tough to get a 3.5" 12ga to do that with 5's.

I know a .410 with #9 TSS will absolutely spank Canada geese at 55 yards, it makes steel BB's look useless, and a .410 is a dream to shoot compared to magnum steel.

seen some real good patterns with the tss 9 shot
This^^^ ! I believe it is stevens making single shot 410 with like a 28-30 inch barrel with screw in chokes for the tss shot . And yes it is #9 . These shoot exceptionally well out to 30 ish yards . Quite a few videos on YouTube of guys killing turkeys with them .

Yup, my father's load for ducks is 3/8 oz of #9 at 1600 fps, has like 130+ pellets, so about the same as a 1-1/8 oz load of #2 steel going 1550 from a 12 gauge. However, the #9 tss penetrates much better than the #2 steel. Only downside, it patters too tight for ducks, he needs to find a way to open up the pattern. At 40 yards with this load, every single pellet went into a 24" circle with an improved cylinder choke from his semi auto tristar .410. I watched him pillowcase a northern mallard at about 60 yards with the thing, it is flat unbelievable what that tss does.
