The 408 is just now starting to see the devlopment in bullets that the 375 and 416 got several years ago. The big problem is what case do you use to see the advantage of the improvement in bullets well we have that covered in the 400 warlord and the 408 colossus. The warlord was designed as a single feed cheytac cartridge while the colossus was designed for the Pierce 20x action. The 400 warlord has a useable capacity of aprox 170 grains behind the 450 grain badlands bullet in our devlopment we tuned in 4 fps sd's on 5 shots at 3175 fps still supersonic to 3500 yards at at 7000 feet all from a cheytac action. Now the 408 colossus is even bigger 185 grains of useable capacity behind a 450 grain badlands bullet should fall in around 3300+

Man things have come a long way since I first started reading this forum! I remember when guys were pushing the envelope with .338's and the RUM and Weatherby cases, then the CheyTac. Used to be that getting an accurate range to target was one of the biggest problems without military grade equipment. I like how guys are always pushing limits, keep it up!

Well, RCC lists the .400 Warlord @$10.10 /each piece.

A search of their website yielded zero results for the .408 Colossus.

Your photograph of the cases essentially cost $939.30 for 93 cases if you can find a price for the .408 Colossus and it's the same as the .400 Warlord.

The 408 colossus is still proprietary and it's about the same price as the warlord but a different case all together

Some guys ask how is it that you can run those pressures. The top photo is the un finished cross section of the h20 conformation case of the 408 colossus 2nd cartridge is a 423 dakota by lapua 3rd cartridge is the 33xc by peterson 4th cartridge is the 375 cheytac peterson and the last is the 375 mercenary by bertram . There is a direct coallation to pressure limits and quality life designs like this dont come cheap . Some of our designs build by Rcc will have 4 times the life at way higher pressures there is a reason why swanplord and I have our designs made from Rcc cause they can make them the way we want

What people should shoot is a matter of personal opinion.

What I will shoot is the important thing to me.

If people want to try to shoot long range to extreme long range with chamberings that cost less or kick less, I will be happy until the firing line at my range gets too crowded but your big boomers are really made for shots much longer than a 1,000 yard range and I think it will be a while before there is no more BLM land or other places to hang a gong for 1,500+ yard shots.

Think of the little stuff more like a gateway drug.

408 Chey Tac and 400 Warlord with the 450 gr ICBM ELR bullet from Badlands,

in the second pic, the 4th bullet from left is a 390 gr Super Bulldozer hunting bullet I had Badlands make for me as a custom order and got another one in the works, the 6th bullet from left is another custom order I had made for me, that one is by Cutting Edge, it's a 400 gr Maximus hunting bullet, last on the end is a 400 gr Woodleigh SN DG hunting bullet
