I recently picked up a 35 Whelen, but I have absolutely zero projectiles in 358. I rounded up some dies and brass and a box of factory ammo, but I need some bullets. There's not a lot of choice in 35 caliber, but there are some options I am looking for. I am looking for something in the 200-225 range. The 225 Accubonds are basically impossible to find, not to mention they are pricey.

I was wondering if anyone has a stash of old Nosler Ballistic Tips laying around in 35 caliber, 225 grain. I'd also be open to buying up some old stash of 35 cal bullets in any of the other 200-225 spitzer type bullets. Basically need to find something to poke some holes in paper to start. Edit to say that the old Nosler BTs have been discontinued for quite a while. IDK if there may be old Nosler solid base bullets in 35 cal?

I know there are some solid C&C bullets in 35 that are good solid bullets, but even though the Whelen isn't the typical LR rifle, I'd like to get as much out of it as possible. I have some 338 projectiles and 338 WM brass listed on here that I could offer for trade or buy outright. PM me what you have with a price.

Try a box of the Sierra 225gr SBT.
I've been shooting them in my 35 whelen for years.
They work well with several powders and they're typically available.

Hello,
I've owned a .35 Whelan Ackley Improved since the 60's. I havea few boxes of bullets you may be interested in: Sierra 200 gr. Round nose, the Speer 250 grain spitzers which have served me well, and also some Hornady 250 grain round nose bullets. Whelan's strength is bullet weight, which stays the same while velocity drops from the muzzle! These are not full boxes but there are plenty for you to test with. I would like $28.00 plus shipping, I am in New Mexico.

Hi Gene,

I think I am going to wait out some Noslers for now. If they don't turn up I will probably start with the 225 GameKing and go from there. I'll keep the 250 Speer Spitzer on my short list as well.

The 225gr AB is done in runs. Look frequently, or better yet set up alerts. It'll come in stock eventually then stock up.

Yeah, I figured that out. I saw on another page I belong to about the 225 BT. Apparently it was a heavy jacket BT, unlike some of the more fragmenting versions. Someone sold a few boxes on that page for a really good price less than a year ago even though they have been discontinued a long time. I just figured if someone had some squirreled away somewhere, maybe I'd get lucky.
