Didn't want to take away from this thread:
Anyone loading lighter bullets (<250 grains) in their 33XC? Wondering what a 200-225 grain Cutting Edge Lazer, Apex, or Bulldozer 2 would do. What powders would you try? I have H1000, RL25, RL26, Retumbo, LRT, RL33, 50BMG, RL50, and Varget ( just kidding)…maybe a dash of US869. I currently run 300 grain bullets (mostly MatchKings, but run Berger and Chinchagas on occasion), plus have some 275 SBD2's to try, so I know what a higher BC bullet will do. Just seeing what a decent BC bullet will do for velocity, mine is 28".
Disclaimer: Before someone claims I'm part of the reason why there is no powder available; I have a variety, just no volume.
33xc velocity
Since my initial post I have seen more and more data similar to what you speak of. The velocity isn't worth the hassle and more splash on target is better than a zippy .338 Now I am thinking of an improved 375 cheytac. With a long barrel (36-38") I am hoping for 3200 fps with a 400gr Lazer...
