338win mag brown bear

I have never had the opportunity to hunt the great bears,(probably never will)blackies only....I have a 338wm that i like a lot, and would feel comfortable taking a brown from a stable position at a distance, but if it was a close range fight, i would much rather my 375 h&h or 45-70 loaded hot

Winchester pre64,new style crf Winchester, FN mauser action,tikka 695,weatherby Vanguard . either stock factorybbl, or Better yet a 24 or 26 cut rifled bbl in # 5 conture stainless steel ofcourse. chanmered in the FANTASTIC 338 Winchester magnum. yes I forgot a few sorry to many to type, are there more powerfull rounds yes , but can you shoot them like your Favorite 10/22 ruger . 31 years back I had my 338 win-mag built on a mark 10 mauser action, a ss/26 inch #5 conture douglas bbl, glass beded into a bell n Carlson carbolite stock. has she Bear hunted you ask ? sadly no but shes a great target round out to 625 yards .easy to feed, fun to shoot, so Dat's my 2 cents worth on this here subject. just wonder what the Auther ended buying ,REGARDS jjmp
