338 win mag

I bought a Dakota 338 win mag. I was actually looking to buy a .300 win mag but fell in love with the wood on the .338. I know.....but it was like when you first lay eyes on your wife. Anyway, this will be my elk gun. Thinking of shooting Hornady interbonds or Winchester Supreme accubonds...both 225gr. Both have bc over.5 at 2800fps. What do you think my max range will be?

800yds. Stoke it up a little bit and you can get 1000yds. With a good load w/ 225 it will do okay. Hit Long Time Long Ranger up for some advice. He is very sound in his loads and abilities of 338 caliber rounds.
