338 savage OAL

I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about the savage 338s. Most of the load data im looking say the oal will be in the 3.40 to 3.60 range. I've checked my gun 4 times and its 3.747 to the lands. Everything I'm reading is saying .020 to .040 off the lands. Does anybody else have a savage that fits in this oal range or was mine built on a friday?

im no expert but it seams most factory rifles are like this .
