338 rum loads needed

who's shooting what ?
got a new 338 rum and have a load of 97 grains of rldr 25 under a 225, for about 3400 fps.

any more ?

i'd like to use it for some l/r shooting with 210's to 225's...

That 3400 fps sounds way too optimistic to me. I went up to 98 gr RL25 with the 225 gr TTSX and had to trash the brass after 2 loadings because the pockets wouldn't hold primers anymore. Shot pretty good

I have since backed down to 94 gr since 96 gr gave me a few extractor groove marks on the case heads. It still shoots lights out and gets close to the same velocity.

Sneak up on a max load w/the 300 SMK and 7828ssc. Expect a velocity of better than 2740 fps MV. Low ES and great groups. This experience is w/a REM 700 and sporter 26" bbl, Fed 215s and Holland QD brake. If you zero @ 200 and use a mil dot ret. you're good to ~900 yds w/o clicking.

Also very fun to shoot.
