Welp, figured I would start a thread on my .338 NM build, now that I'm back home. Hopefully I can have it done in time for some spring bear hunting.

- Manners Stock
- Defiance Deviant Action
- Bartlein Barrel
- Badger Ordinance bottom metal
- Trigger (still undecided)

Should make a fine build, I built a lightweight 338 Norma I went with:
Stiller tac 338
Iota Kremlin
24 in proof sendero
M5 greyboe bottom metal
3 round accurate mag
4.5x18 LRHS
10 lbs scoped and loaded....

I shoot 250 bergers and 285 ELDs and it is hell on wheels...good luck with your build

Hi, how's the 338 Norma doing?
With mine, I'm still rehearsing.
Accuracy is good for now but not the best.
Greetings from Italy

Still waiting on my action. Should be done soon.

I was going to go out of state to get the barrel chambered, since it seems all the smiths up here have vanished. Going to swing into the big city and talk to a shop to see if they have the right ream.

All the important pieces have been ordered and everything should be headed to Alaska.

Ended up going with a Bix'n Andy sporttac protrigger. Had the Timney Calvin Elite in the cart and after reading a bunch of bad reviews I bailed.

Hi, my 338N is also light: 3.5 kg = 7.72 lbs without optics. But I think it's the minimum limit for having an acceptable long range group.

There is a Hardy brake mounted on my barrel

It brakes very well on the shoulder, but not enough to stay still on target. With bipod resting on the ground, after the shot, I have to search for the target

Are you going to put a brake on it? If so, I would get a MBM Beast 5 port, or a Terminator T3. I have a Beast 5 port on my light .338, and I can spot my impacts with it. Loaded ready to hunt it is 9.6 lbs.
I was planning on getting the TBAC 338 Ultra SR, so I was going to go with the quick attach muzzle brake, but they're back ordered right now.

Action arrived at my local shop yesterday.
Just waiting on the rest of the parts. My trigger has been getting sent all over the state, clearly the company I ordered it from did not put the address on there that I input.

At least it's in my town somewhere. It originally got sent 300 miles south in the wrong direction, to the other side of Homer, AK.
