I have a trg-s in 338 Lapua. I am off to the range with 250 Scenars using N560 Powder. Can anyone give me any hints on the loads that have been very accurate in the 338. Any help would be great. thanks

I have not had very good experiences with N560. It seems to give weird, unexplainable pressure spikes. For example- was testing a single shot Sako with a "middle of the road" load of N560 and 300 gr MK. Basically a zeroing and barrel break in load. Shot 5, everything fine. Next one I had to beat the bolt open. Next 3 fine. Next had to beat again. Then 6 fine then beat two open.
Had this same scenario happen several different times with different Lapuas and 300 WSM.

I use Retumbo, 94 gr over a 300gr MK. Rel 22 or 25 is also given me good results over 250 or 300gr MK.

I have a single shot Sako TRG-S with a 30" PacNor barrel, I shoot the 250 Scenar with 88.5grs of VV560 and a F215 primer. Shoots 3 shot groups under moa out to 600yds at 3050fps. This load isn't a max load in my rifle, yours may be different.

.338 Lapua Loads; I have used since 1993 when Sako sent them into North America. 96.5 gr. of Rel. 22, Fed 215M Primer and a 210gr. Nosler Partition. This load gave a max. spread of 2ft in my 1 in 12 twist barrel. The lowest 3119-3121fps. There are some pressure signs in extreme heat, but none when hunting in the fall. Sorry,no N560 experience here. I started my 338 LM mission with talking to Sako test shooters and their best loads with 300SMK:s and TRG-S were achieved with N165.

Mine has a 10" twist and the bedding needs a cure but the powder/bullet combo works fine. My load is slightly over the VV published max.
