There are still some cosmetic things to do.

The brake to barrel transition still needs some clean up.
It was bead blasted then I started polishing everything but the beaded fluting. I really like how that looks. I might color the flutes to match the stock.

I have the long Weatherby magazine and a Wyatt's with custom bottom metal.

Long, lean and sexy.

Let us know how it shoots.
Oh, it shoots very well.

I am working through a bunch of Hornady BTHP 285s with which I torture a dueling tree with 5" swingers at 700 yards. I used to have an IPSC outline target with a "hostage/Bad Guy" swinger at 700 but I broke off the swinger so many times the maintenance man stopped fixing it. The dueling tree doesn't break because it rattles and absorbs the energy.

I have not been out with many of the good rifles recently. Just ones with ammo already loaded. Now that spring is over, I hope to return to my regularly scheduled program on the 338 Edge channel. When the BTHP are gone, I have my 285 A-Max. 280 LRX and lots of other fun bullets to load. Where the 338/26-Nosler tops out the 338/300RUM aka 338 Edge starts.
