I'm getting ready to start loading for a 338 Edge. Looking for recipes some of you have had good results with. I'm using RP 300 RUM brass necked up. I have both Retumbo and H1000 powder. My bullets are 300 grain Bergers and Cutting Edge 265 grain Lazers. Any info on associated seating depth and velocities is appreciated. By the way, I've been digging in the archives. Not finding anything on the Lazers. Thanks...

My load was 90 grain H100, fed215m primer, Remington brand .300 RUM brass necked up, 300 grain Sierra Matchking. My buddy's current load is 91 grain H1000, fed215, Remington brass with a 300 Berger. Both these run about 2850 fps, my barrel was a 30" Lilja and his a 28" Kreiger.

Not sure on your COAL.
Mine runs long ~3.9" and I use 300 rum norma brass
Im at 92.5 grs H1000 with 300 bergers for 1.3" at 200 meters
260 hammers with n570 96.5 grs .6"@200m running 3K fps. This is on the hot side
All from a 26" barrel. Please start lower than the load data listed for safe load development.

In my three 338 Edges I run Remington 300 Rum brass , H-1000 , Cci mag 250.
Best load in the 90 to.92 gr. And .010 to.015 off the lands . 300 grain bergers, either the Elite Hunters or the Otm's .
My Heavy Edge is 90.4 and .015 off . 29" Kreiger heavy Palmaat 2849 ft per sec. Hits out to 3027 yrds .
My Lawton action 30 " McGowen is 91 gr at 2850 ft.per.sec.
My Remington action , 30 " Proof was 92 gr . at 2884 ft.per.sec.
The Edge is amazing to say the least !
Let us know how you end up ..
I had such good results with H-1000 never tryed Nv570 or Re-33.

Rum Man

A little different but 86.5 Grains of IMR 7828, .300 Grain Berger Hybrid Hunters. Some RP Brass but changing to Nosler Brass. FED 215M primers. 2808 fps out of a 29" Schilin match barrel. Remington 700 Action.

I see a couple of you are using Norma brass. How is it holding up in the primer pocket and neck?

I'm about to use Norma brass for a 338 RUM so the same thing with the shoulder pushed back 0.090".

Just sold mine...I was using Berger 300gr OTM with 91gr H1000 in necked up Remington 300RUM brass, then switched to RE33 and US869. My chamber is the ++P version, I had fits with pressure spikes, under ignition and carbon rings and a tight neck chamber.
Ran another reamer in and fixed all the issues.
My seating depth was 3.970" with the 300gr OTM.
Had to run it as a single shot, which was fine.

Cheers.

I have 6 loads with H1000 on the brass and all is well. The n570 at 3K will likely shorten the useful life of the brass to 3 or 4. Never have trouble with necks, always lose pockets on brass.

Moving forward, I'd probably buy ADG - but I was already over budget for the build.

I'm running Remington brass, 98 grains of H1000, CCI 250 primers, 250 grain Berger OTM Hybrids at 3252 fps from a 30" Hart . I'm getting about 4 reloads and primer pockets are getting loose. Fixing to try Norma brass.
