With 300 gr SMK's, what is a good starting point to seat the bullet from the lands? Thanks.

I like .01-.015" but that is just my preference.

Two answers
1. If it is a magazine gun, start at max magazine COAL and come back .010 at a time until you find the best groups.
2. If non magazine gun, then start touching the lands and come back .010 at at time. As a broad general rule, the non VLD bullets like to be off the lands vs in them.
