I have a trued 700 LH 338 Edge and a Factory 300 RUM Sendero. (up to 4.00" COAL)
Love the accuracy in both...and the 338 Edge is amazing...

I'll get to the point.

I want to build a new 338 Edge or 300RUM on a 700 variant action and stock...with a loaded COAL length of 3.9" to 4.0"
The main questions I have is in regards to what action, stock, and detachable mag can be machined or modified to build this gun?
Is it possible? Are there any detachable mag systems that can be modified or built to handle a 4.0" COAL?
No, I don't mind loading my current 338 Edge or 300 RUM as a single shot.
But it's something I'd like to build...

Thanks

I run my R700 LA .300RUM with the Wyatt's box. Pushing a 230 Hybrid @ 3068fps over Retumbo. Might be trying RL33 sometime to see if I can get a bit less pressure, as mine is right on the edge.

R700 LA BDL trued
Wyatt's 3.8xx" extended box
28" 1:10" Rock Creek Heavy Varmint w. Badger Thruster brake
McMillan adjustable Game Warden
Timney 510 @ 1lb 7oz
Factory Rem BDL bottom metal
Seekins alloy 20MOA Picatinny rail
Seekins alloy 34mm low rings
Premier Heritage 5-25×56 Gen 2XR

It's not a detachable mag, but Pacific Tool & Die has an Orbendorf bottom metal that can get you to 4". Just ordered one for my 338 Edge build...
