This rifle was built for a fellow member here a few years ago. He went through shoulder surgery just before the rifle was delivered, and it proved to be a bit much for him to shoot. I liked the build so much, that I offered to buy it back from him.
Well, it has sat on the coffee table in my office for a few years, and is likely to sit there for another few years. I have decided to sell it, and give someone the chance to enjoy it.

The rifle was chambered by Bruce Baer, and stocked by me.

It has 42 documented rounds fired through it. I did the load developent before I shipped it. It shot around an inch group at 300 yards. I will provide the load data to the buyer.

Here are a few threads about the rifle:

Re: .338-.408 Improved

Wow! Beautiful rifle. Looks amazing and the proof target is really nice as well.

Re: .338-.408 Improved

Wow Joel! I can't even allow myself to think about how cool it would be to have that in the same stable as my Bubinga stocked 308 Baer that came through your shop at the same time that one was built. They are practically litter mates:D

If only... I'm already jelous of who ever the lucky buyer is going to be:rolleyes:

Re: .338-.408 Improved

Very nice shooting stick Joel.

Have a 338 snipe -tac in a tactical stock ,but love the way your rig looks.

Nice

God Bless

Jeff

Re: .338-.408 Improved

Joel, how is the recoil with the vias brake?

Mike

It's manageable with the Vias. The original customer wanted the brake to be contoured to the barrel, se he went with that one. The slow burning powder produces more of a push in these calibers than the stout recoil associated with the faster burning powders.
