I found a box in the cabinet , they were a big deal back in the day. are they still?

I know they work well on big pigs, smash right thru heavy shoulder bone and track straight thru. I believe unusually high costs of mfg process in this design contributed to them being discontinued, hopefully someone in the know will chime in.

I have several boxes some labeled as Black Talon others as Fail Safe, looks like the same stuff to me just different logo.

I wouldn't say they're a big deal today amongst what else is available in 2021 in .338 dia but definitely a solid performer/consistent IMO in the instances I've used them.

Yes I know, old thread I just ran across.

They're actually 230gr aren't they? We used the 375 H&H with the 270 Failsafe on zebra and some elk sized PG in south Africa. Real good stuff, though I felt they didn't open as fast as the Barnes XBT we used in the 300WM and 340Wby.
