.338-06 ammo

I have a rem.700 made to 338=06. it was factory loaded by Weatherby.Nosler,& ASquare. so I bought brass(100rds.) also but never learned to reload. now I can't find a load by any maker.is anyone load them anymore? thanks, Dskiper

Not to my knowledge, if you can find any loaded ammo buy all you they have.
I have brass and reload. I also started using 30 06 brass as well to save my factory brass.
Great cartridge, pushes bullets getting close to 338 WIN mag without the kick n less powder.
I have been watching for new brass runs but so far unsuccessful.

thanks. I agree less recoil.I have many rds. of 200gr.factory Nosler-Weatherby.shoot less recoil than 180 30-06s in my opinion @ 2800fps.on 200gr 338-06. love it.!!

thanks but when I finished my rem.700 build I was in Cabelas &to my luck found 338-06 RCBS dies & 300 Weatherby also. I moved away briefly and never learned to reload. all loading equipment sits in my garage in boxes. now living in a senior village(yuck!) so not much room. Dskiper

Hendershots has 338-06 ammo for $90-$100 per box. Expensive, but at least you can get to shoot!

I would say your best bet is to find a buddy that can load for you. I have always loaded my own 338-06 from 30-06 brass, just a simple pass through the FL die is all that's required.
Otherwise you could load your own seeing as you have the gear. Just clamp the press to the kitchen table.

338-06 is easy to load for.I like to start with once fired 30-06 brass.One trip through the sizer die and you have your brass.I shoot 200gr bullets in mine using just about any powder between Varget and 4350 burn range.

I LOVE my 338-06 and like others have said it's easy to reload. I picked up a 2 1/2 gallon bucket full of 30-06 brass in a trade and neck it up. 200gr Accubonds over a healthy charge of RL17 or VV N-550 have been the sweet spot for me.

My 338-06 was a Remington 700 Long Range 30-06 rebored by JES.It is one of the best shooting rifles I own.I really like the 200gr bullets,both the Silver Ballistic Tips and Accubond.My rifle shoots them both same POI.It's accurate with several loads.I have found it shoots well with so many powders,but I keep going back to Big Game because it always groups so well with it.I use the WLRM Primer and resized Winchester 30-06 once fired cases necked up on all of them.Here is my load data.

200gr Accubond 60.0grs 760 This load grouped good just never got a velocity on it

Sorry, but just had to throw this grouping in the 338 conversation. Not a 338-06, but 338 RCM. 59.0 gr of A2520 pushing a 180 gr accubond. I'd like to build a 338-06 though. I think it's a cool cartridge.
