Hello everyone,

Has anybody used a 308 win for antelope hunting in the Oklahoma panhandle?
I have read in the past that the cartriges of choice for such game is the 25-06 and 243.
Thanks for your time.

why wouldnt it be just fine? a little on the heavy side but not much really. im sure people do it every year.

one thing if could suggest is if you have a couple big coolers get it skinned and the quarters in the ICE in no more than an hour. after doing this on the last one that i killed the meat was 100% better from the past few that i had just skinned and put in cheesecloth.

Good luck.

I have seen them killed with a 22-250 up to a 300 Wby.
Each worked efficiently, putting the animal down fast.
I would not hesitate using a 308.
