Thank you, Steve.

How have you found temperature stability with CFE223? I have never used it but I'm ready to "bite the bullet" so to speak because of the tiny volume of the 308 case.

I h e no experience with it in a .308 but I use it in my 6x45 and haven’t noticed any issues that being said I did load work mid summer and never used it below freezing

I have not tested it. But unless you are shooting long range or working up hot loads in the cold it should not make enough diff to matter.

I load the 166 hammers in my 308 under Varget. I used to do the light fast monos but now always run the heaviest I can twist up, there is no down side to weight especially on heavier game, to many wrecks with light for cal Monos.

I would tend to agree with you for elk-size game.

However, have you had any problems with deer-size or impala-size game?
Could you elaborate with an anecdote or two?
I've also heard that impact velocities 2600 and up have a greater chance of a shock-kill, DRT.

Sounds reasonable. Most of my hunting is 65*F to 90*F in Tanzania or 45*F-80*F Calif. A rule of thumb I've heard is +/-1fps for every degree +/- from the load development. And that is primarily for the worst offenders. Some powders are only half of that. Any idea where CFE223 falls on the scale?

I wish you could just buy a box of loaded ammo. I can tell in just a few shots if it shows promise..or not? Look around your loading bench how many partial boxes do you have sitting there? Stuff you have tried and for one reason or another they just sit?

I feel like there should be something to bridge the gap between the 101 and 130
Ha! It is not often that we request for lighter bullets. Usually it is someone who wants 150g .257 cal bullets that will run in the standard 10" twist! Kidding. I'm sure we could see if we can get something in the 120g range for the 30 cal.
