Per a few recent posts about the 300wsm, I was wondering if anyone could give me an OAL on the 300wsm loaded w/ the 190. I'm curious how well this would fit in a short action. If the 190 doesn't fit, what class of bullet can be ran in the SA?

The 185g Classic Hunters run well in my 300wsm at factory R700 mag length.

The 185VLD fit and shot extremely well for me in a 300WSM a few years ago. 190's should shoot as well. It was a Savage 116.

I cant remeber oal but h4350 at 63.5gr (work up not sure if this is overly hot) worked extremely well in my 12twist barrel. It was close to being the most accurate load/barrel ive had, and it was a factory fluted varmint remington barrel rechambered from 308 to 300wsm. It wasnt over pressure for me. But a couple moose down from that load that both fell flat in their scrapes. It clocked 2900fps. It functioned perfectly from my wyatts extended box mag that catered to a 2.995? oal.

I shoot the EOL 180 berger in mine ...bc is a touch better than the 190..shoot great 65.3 gr IMR 4350 cci 250 primers..seat mine at 2.196 to the ogive and they fit in the box great on the short action

I have run the 230 otm at mag length, shot very well out of my gun even with some serious jump. I dont remember the fps off hand, I was running 63gr of h4831 in a winchester case.

I swapped to the 200.20x berger, and run them .020" off the lands. 66.5gr of h4831 in a norma case is giving me 2826fps and keeping a single digit SD over 15 shots.
