[QUOTE="sniperjwt, post: 368845, member: 22262"] Alright yesterday i traded a guy a Savage 17 HMR for a Savage Model 11 300WSM. After i get a new gun as like most people i sat around and messed with it for a while. The wife come in from shopping and i showed it to her. You know what her reply was. "It looks just like all the other ones you have". Hmmm.... that got me thinking:rolleyes: and so i started looking around and sure enough i have about 4 or 5 other guns with the same old black synthetic stock. Well i had read an article on here a few days ago about painting your stock and never really thought about it until today when Darrin posted his picture of the stock that he finished painting. I turned to the wife and started asking her questions about how to paint the stock. She said i only design quilts not guns. Well i figured if you are a designer then you are a designer so i sat and pondered how i was going to go about it. Then it hit me. I could break off a branch of one of the evergreen trees beside the house and use that as a template to give it the more realistic look. I literally done this in about an hour and a half. Let me know what you think.
