Has anyone used reloader 17 for 300 win mag. I have load data for it for 150-190g. Bullets in hornady Manuel 8th edition. Wonder if any one has tried this before,I have a bunch of re17 coming and can't seem to find re22 anywhere. Hoping to use this with 185 Berger's hunting vld. Normally I use re25 with them but can't find it either.
thanks in addvance

I like H4831SC for bullets up to about 190gr, for heavier bullets you might want to use something slower. I have used RL 15 and RL25 in other calibers and found both to be VERY dirty and temperature sensitive.

My brother was using it in his last 300 win before rl17 data came out. It is basically a double base 4350. It should do you well in the 300win with moderate bullet weights.

I loaded some Reloader-17 in my 300 Win. Mag when I was shooting some test loads for some 180gr Speer Deep Curls.72.5grs gave me 1/2" groups @ 100yds with a velocity of 3215fps!!!I tried it in other rifles, some did well, some not.I found you can load it close to IMR-4350.It seems to run high velocities at a little lower pressure. My need to play with this powder some more myself.

I reload .300 WM for my buddy who has one. I've never used 17. I've used 19, 22, and H1000 with good results, although, strangely enough with H1000 the barrel heats up quicker than it does with the Reloder 19 or 22.

Either way, I've had good results with those 3. The best results were with 22 & Nosler Custom Comp 175's. Also got good groups with 22 and Hornady 178 A-Max's.

I have used 22 & 25 with great results but can't find it anywhere. Have 6lbs of 17 coming and have data for it so I figured what the heck its worth a try. Thanks. If the 300 dont like it the 243 will
